Hotel de Sully In Paris

The Hotel de Sully is an old mansion house that is located in the 4th Arrondissement of Paris and was originally constructed in 1625 by Jean Androuet Du Cerceau.

It was purchased ten years later by Sully, the former minister of King Henri IV and hence the name of this mansion.

There are two courtyard gardens, the first of these courtyards is paved with cobble stones, and the second has a nice quiet grassy area and garden, and the great news is that both of these are open to the public.

You can also have a guided tour of the mansion itself on a Saturday or Sunday, which is now occupied by the Caisse Nationale des Monuments Historiques et des Sites, where you can get to see the original features of this historical building including tapestries and the beautiful wood panelling on the interior.

There is also an extensive bookshop that has a very wide selection of tourist guides and scholarly books available for every area of Paris you could possibly imagine.

The gardens themselves are open from 9am through to 7pm apart from National holidays when they are closed, and as above, the mansion is open for guided tours most weekends.
