La Marée Restaurant In Paris

La Maree translates to The Tide in English and The Maree restaurant has been going for over forty years now, but do not get this place confused with other restaurants in Paris that are also called Maree, as it is a very popular name for establishments that serve seafood.

This particular restaurant provides a place of elegance and discretion, decorated like a Tudor inn with its lead windows, traditional upholstery and 17th century Flemish tapestries, which is befitting of a top table restaurant with its sumptuous old fashioned elegance that will keep people coming back for years to come plus it even has valet parking.

La Marée Restaurant In Paris

The Maree restaurant we are talking about here is situated in the 8th arrondissement of Paris only a short walk away from the Champs Elysees Avenue and is an up market restaurant that serves traditional French Haute Cuisine in a gentleman's type atmosphere.  But along with the exceptional cuisine, it also has a reputation for a fantastic wine cellar holding a large selection of wines and some very prestigious vintages from some of the top French wine regions to accompany your meal.

Now thinking about the food, it is the finest seafood produce that is meticulously selected and prepared from the daily deliveries that arrive straight from the fishing ports and sea-water live tanks, which means outstanding quality, but the downside is that you may not know in advance what seafood is going to be available, as the menu is always constantly changing to incorporate the fresh catches available.

But some of the delights you may find on offer include traditional French classics like sole meunière either grilled or steamed, Breton lobster in spring vegetable salad, scampi with roast hazelnuts and oysters cooked in Champagne, but there are also some more modern dishes available like grilled mullet fillets with a basque risotto.

Restaurant Guide Key Points

La Maree is open from Monday to Friday for lunch and also for dinner until 10.30pm.  However, on a Saturday they are only open in the evening for dinner, yet are closed all day Sunday and for two weeks in August.

Reservations are highly recommended for the Maree, plus do remember that the dress code is smart, dressy.

There is valet parking available, however if you are using public transport then the nearest Metro stations are Miromesnil or Saint-Philippe-du-Roulle.

The average à la carte price is around 120€ and a starter is approximately 27€ upwards and the average cost of a main dish is around €47.
Foie gras de canard grand café €29
