Les Papilles Restaurant & Delicatessen

Les Papilles was first opened in the year 2003 and is a delicatessen style wine store by day where you can purchase your favourite wines, and also has a great selection of unusual fine wines from independent and small vineyards along with gourmet treats and other sumptuous food goodies such as jams and olive oils.

However, they do serve lunches and evening meals in the small restaurant, where you are asked to choose your wine from the vast selection displayed on the shelves to one side of this Bistro, which means it is a great place to have a break and sample some of their ever changing dishes.

Les Papilles Restaurant & Delicatessen In Paris

Although they have an A la Carte menu for starters and main courses at a lunch time, it is their fixed price seasonal market menu that most people go for and comprises four courses with fresh ingredients available that day.

Located in the heart of Paris near to the Luxembourg Gardens and the famous Pantheon on the Left Bank of the River Seine in the 5th arrondissement, Les Papilles translates to Taste Buds in English and is very popular for the ever changing traditional French cuisine, which will definitely get your taste buds wanting more!

The wine displayed can be purchased to take away, or to be enjoyed with your meal and they range in price from 10€ to 1,000€.  Although there is an uncorking fee of around 7€, if you have any wine left in your bottle at the end of the meal, they will happily re-cork it for you to take away.

Some of the dishes on offer range from soups such as quenelle of goat cheese with bacon, tomatoes, peppers and herbs, foie gras, slowly cooked braised and sautéed pork with young potatoes, mushrooms and black olives, fourme d'Ambert with prunes marinated in red wine and creme brulee.

However of an evening it is a set menu four course meal, which some may not like the idea of, but it certainly works, as Les Papilles is always full and there is a great friendly and stress free atmosphere, where the only thing you have to consider is what wine to choose.
