Travel Guide to Alsace Province in France

Visiting the many museums some of which are even of international interest, viewing vineyards, being able to see the many fortified castles which are along the Vosges, the houses and even complete villages decorated with flowers and of course, the famous Rhine are just some of the reasons why people travel to this region in France.

The heritage with its numerous castles and museums, the wine and the great food, especially along the Route du Vin are just three of the reasons that Alsace attracts millions of visitors each and every year.

Alsace Province of France

However, during the lead up to Christmas and over the festive season, there are more and more people drawn to this area for the fantastic atmosphere, the mulled wine and the famous Christmas markets.

Yet for the more adventurous, the mountain range of the Vosges caters for numerous activities including horse riding, hiking, cycling and much more via a vast network of trails making virtually all of the Vosges Massif accessible, even down to the most hard to reach places.

And although summer is a beautiful time for walks and excursions, winter can also be a picturesque and tranquil place, unless of course you prefer more strenuous activities such as water sports or skiing, all of which are available in the Alsace.
