This café and tea room in Paris is located in the 8th
Arrondissement close to the Champs Elysees
Avenue where there are many beautiful 19th century mansions and when it is nice
weather you can even enjoy a light lunch on the terrace of the beautiful formal
gardens.
And although this cafe is situated in the Musée
Jacquemart-André, you do not have to tour the mansion if you do not want to, but even
though it is far less known than many of the other museums
in Paris, we would say that it is definitely worth the visit. Yet if not touring
the museum, initially you enter the passageway from the street and here you will see the
queue of people waiting to purchase the museums tickets, but instead of waiting in line,
you go past the people and straight to the gift shop. From the gift shop you exit
into a courtyard and go up a gravel drive to the mansion, where the Jacquemart-André
Café is located on the right.
Offering light, yet high quality food including salads and quiche you will be mesmerised
by the glorious surroundings, but you will not be able to resist their sumptuous pastries,
gateaux and fruit tarts.
But the museum itself plus this café and tea room in Paris can also be a
great place to take the children during the summer months rather than dragging them around
a far larger stately home such as Chateau de
Versailles or a large museum like The Louvre,
as they have free activities where they are even able to dress up in period costume and
have a photograph taken as a souvenir of their visit.
So whilst in Paris do take the time to enjoy the
antiques, paintings, tapestries and frescos in this unique cafe.
