Guy Savoy himself along with the chef David Legrand designed the
menu for La Butte Chaillot and even though it is not a haute
cuisine restaurant in Paris like the Guy
Savoy or Gerard Besson, the cuisine speaks for itself. In fact, every day there
is an additional starter, main course and dessert that is specially selected so you have
the opportunity of discovering the flavours and fresh produce available at the time.
So some of the delights on offer include pan-fried fillet of sea bass, le puy lentil with
tarragon and shellfish coulis, a vegetable platter with chive oil, crisp roasted saddle of
rabbit with green olives, baby vegetables and chanterelles with tarragon butter or spit
roasted farmhouse chicken and potato puree. And yes you did read correctly, there
was a vegetarian dish mentioned, and even though it is unusual for restaurants in Paris to cater for vegetarians,
this particular establishment does.
This up market Paris Bistro is situated
in the 16th arrondissement of Paris and is located
between the Etoile and the Palais de Chaillot on Avenue Kleber, where you can see the
lights of the Eiffel Tower in the distance and being
transformed from a building that was originally a Bank, this place is often frequented by
business people.
But La Butte Chaillot is far from being stuffy, it is a modern, welcoming place for
innovative French cuisine that will not break the bank and is great for an evening with
friends.
