You will find the Saint Cyr Palace in the 17th arrondissement of Paris and it is situated slightly off the beaten path
for most tourists, but is directly north of the Arc
de Triomphe and only a short walk from the Palais de Congres in Porte Maillot, yet is
well worth the trip out there for a lively and enjoyable evening where you will be mixing
with the locals.
But getting back to the restaurant, the dining room decor has tones of a rich red
accompanied by walnut leather seating and contrasting white tablecloths, along with
ornaments, artwork, Portuguese artefacts and palm trees that makes the interior even more
authentic, plus you also has a lovely view of a beautiful garden.
When you eat at this restaurant, you can expect dishes like oven-grilled smoked cod with
olive oil, peppers and potatoes, and all of the cuisine utilises fresh produce but the
majority has olive oil combined with it, for example, prawns, shellfish, pork, cod, etc,
but whatever you choose, it will be cooked to perfection in a true Portuguese way.
Now, the bar itself is not any old bar, as it has a games room with a pool table and table
football (known as baby-foot in French), plus three large screens for watching sports, etc
and there is even a dance floor for later on in the evening, so that you can boogie away
to the resident DJ. However, they do also have other guests playing live music
and the traditional Portuguese folk music of the soul, so it is well worth checking this
place out if you want something a little different.
When it comes to drinks, they are reasonably priced, especially compared to most bars and nightclubs in Paris, but on selected nights
they also have special offers, such as cocktails for around 5 on a Wednesday and buy
one drink get one free on a Sunday. Plus Saint Cyr Palace also has themed nights on
different days of the week, like Portugal Fever on a Tuesday night, Happy Hour Days and a
Ladies Night on other days.
