The Frog and Rosbif In Paris

The Frog and Rosbif is an English bar that was first established back in 1993 and has a lively yet typically British Pub atmosphere, where they serve their own brewed beers, plus pub food.

It is a loud and very popular venue for watching live sports such as the motor racing, rugby and of course football where all of the Premiership games and main football teams like Arsenal and Manchester United are always on the big screen and the three plasma TVs, providing customers with excellent visibility throughout the whole of the bar.

The Frog and Rosbif In Paris

This is a beautiful, yet traditional English bar with a busy little brewery in the cellar and as with many such establishments in the UK it holds quiz nights, music and entertainment nights, DJ and party nights and at the weekend it really does get buzzing with a young and international party crowd.

The Frog and Rosbif is situated in the 2nd arrondissement, just around the corner from the Rue Montorgueil, which is the oldest market street in Paris and on weeknights they have a happy hour but this lasts for more than an hour!  Plus you can get bar snacks, hot sandwiches like a chicken and bacon bagel with fries, and typical bar food like fish and chips to fill your stomach before you drink too much!

This place is the original one of the FrogPubs chain in France and was an instant success with the British ex-pats, but also became very popular with the Parisians along with many other nationalities as well.  So due to this success, they have expanded and opened up three other bars in Paris called the Frog and Princess, The Frog at Bercy Village and the Frog and British Library.  They have also now expanded further afield and opened two bars called the Frog and Rosbif in other regions in France, one being in Toulouse and the other in Bordeaux.

With the Frog and Rosbif, the ex-pats have everything they could wish for including even the odd English paper hanging around on the shelf by the bar and you would be mistaken in thinking you are back in the UK with the interior in wood with numerous curiosities around, but this bar has a great friendly atmosphere no matter what your nationality.

Paris Bar Guide Key Points

The Frog and Rosbif is open every day from noon until 2am.

When we were there in 2008 they were offering a 13€ lunch menu Monday to Friday, and they were serving an English breakfast every Sunday.

Food is served continuously from noon until 11pm every day of the week.

They have Happy Hours from 5.30pm through to 8pm Monday to Friday with a pint of beer only 4.50€ and other drinks like cocktails on special.

On a Thursday, students can get all drinks at the Happy Hour pricing all night, and enjoy magic tricks performed at your table or while away the hours listening to 80's, 90's and present day music.

On a Sunday at 8pm they hold Quiz Nights where you can win free drinks!

If you would like to have a party at the Frog and Rosbif, then a section of the bar can be reserved for up to 100 people with special prices on food and drink, but obviously this would have to be reserved in advance.

You do need reservations at this place to eat out in Paris and the dress code is casual, but you might like to know that they also have free WiFi for those of you that cannot go a day without getting your emails!

Unfortunately, though it is not very accessible to the disabled as the toilets are actually downstairs.

The nearest Metro station is the Etienne Marcel
