Many of the wines are available served by the glass with others
by the bottle and there is a very varied selection, but with an emphasis on wine regions in France such as the Rhone wines and the Languedoc wines, but you can also have sherry as
well.
There is a cosy dining room situated at the back of the wine bar with high beamed ceilings, where you
can experience the fresh market based French cuisine that has hints of a Mediterranean
influence, and the menu ends up changing on a daily basis.
This is also the place where you can see the Willi's Bottle Art Collection hanging on the
walls, which has become a phenomenon and renowned all over the world. Ever year,
Willi's commissions a different artist to come up with a poster type image and each year
connoisseurs wait in anticipation of the image depicting the new vintage. Plus you
can now collect the limited edition posters that illustrate the pleasures of wine.
Willi's Wine Bar and Restaurant is situated in the 1st Arrondissement near to The Louvre, which a one of the famous museums in Paris and is also very close to the financial
district.
Because this restaurant in Paris has become
so popular, not just for the incredible selection of French
wines, but for their quality of food, more and more people are getting to know about
this place through personal recommendations and therefore reservations are suggested, but
impromptu dining at the bar is encouraged which means you may well still be in with a
chance of a reasonably priced meal in Paris to
remember.
Some of the delights on offer may include wild duck with marmalade, Lyonnais sausage in
truffled vinaigrette, guinea-fowl with confit of onions and bacon, a delicious chocolate
terrine, etc but bear in mind that the cuisine is dependant upon what is available in the
way of fresh produce for the time of year as well as what is in season.
